ISELP – Institut supérieur pour l’étude du langage plastique is an art center located in Brussels. It organises various public events (exhibitions, lectures, performances, etc.) and offers three residencies for a duration of three months each year.
Type of residency
The residencies are meant to reflect the diversity of the artistic scene in Belgium and more precisely in Brussels. They are designed as a space for artists, critics, theoreticians, curators who are willing to deepen a series of specific investigations on topics related to our contemporary (art) world. They favour the importance of the production of a form of knowledge and research conceived as specific to the work of art, therefore privileging the process and the encounter.
Each resident is offered both a workspace and an access to the documentation center of ISELP, as well as a 1500 euros grant. This program is made possible with the support of the French Community Commission.
The residency is open to artist or artists’ collective, but also to curators inviting a number of artists to intervene in his project. No medium is privileged.
Multidisciplinary art, painting, drawing, installation, video, photography, textile work, sound art, edition, exhibition, etc.
